Alissa Irion-Groth
Director of Program Grants and Innovation

Alissa Irion-Groth works with educators throughout the United States and the world to strengthen and expand civic education for all people. She has worked to innovate, evaluate, and sustain civic education programs at the Center for Civic Education for over eighteen years.

Irion-Groth joined the Center in 2004 to support the Arab Civitas Program in the Middle East and North Africa. Since then, she has worked to foster partnerships with organizations in all regions of the world. She currently collaborates with other Center staff to manage the worldwide Civitas International Programs network and federal grants reaching high-need students and educators across the United States.

Irion-Groth holds an EdM in international education policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a BS in Elementary Education and East Asian Studies from Vanderbilt University, and a K–12 multiple subject area teaching credential from the state of California.
