Stories of Civil Disobedience
March 3, 2026 • 7:00-8:30 pm EST
In Partnership with The Bob and Marion Wilson Teacher Institute of Colonial Williamsburg
How do we define "civil disobedience?" Are disobedience and defiance the same thing? Join Dr. Kelly Brennan, Colonial Williamsburg Historian, to examine how stories throughout history complicate our understanding of civil disobedience. Then, join educators with the Center for Civic Education and the Teacher Institute of Colonial Williamsburg to discuss how to apply this content in your classroom.
Participants will receive 1.5 professional development hours for attending this session. For more information, please contact teacherdevelopment@cwf.org.
