Announcing the Third Annual We the People National Invitational We are pleased to announce the Third Annual We the People National Invitational, April 17-21, 2015, on the campus of George Mason University. To help us launch this year's event, we've created this brief video. Modeled after the National Finals, the Invitational is designed to provide a broad range of middle and high school students with the opportunity to showcase their civic learning at the national level while bringing their classroom lessons to life in touring our nation's capital. Apply Today for the National Academy for Civics and Government Teachers are invited to apply for "Political and Constitutional Theory for Citizens: The National Academy for Civics and Government," being held July 11-August 1, 2015, at Occidental College in Los Angeles. The three-week teacher institute will provide the opportunity to engage in serious study and discussion of basic ideas of political theory, the principles of the founding of the Constitution of the United States, and the values of American constitutional democracy. CCE Pakistan Launches National Civic Education Advocacy Campaign On the International Day of Democracy, September 15, the Centre for Civic Education Pakistan launched a nationwide advocacy campaign for inclusion of democratic civic education in textbooks. On October 20, CCE Pakistan, the Center's Civitas International Programs partner in Pakistan, hosted its annual national conference with the theme of Pakistani Democracy: Potential, Promise, and Performance. |
