About the Stewards of Civic Unity

Because of you, learners gain hope and are empowered to participate in our democracy through the practice of real-world applications of civic skills. You help develop young people who are inclined to responsible civic participation and bettering their communities.
The Center developed the Stewards of Civic Unity, a club recognizing the generosity of our most faithful supporters, to deepen our relationship with you. This club brings together a group of like-minded people who are dedicated to equipping and empowering learners and educators—regardless of personal circumstances—and who take seriously the charge to educate the next generation who will carry and strengthen our democracy.
Since 1965, the Center has served more than 50 million students. We have expanded our work to every state in the nation, and outside the U.S., in partnership with organizations in local states and communities. We could not have accomplished this without your support.
At the Center, we believe that to fortify the American system of government, we must engage learners in comprehensive, hands-on civic education. Your support is helping us make the difference in increasing numbers of communities across the country.

About

CCE LogoThe Center for Civic Education is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating an informed and thoughtful citizenry committed to democratic principles and actively engaged in the practice of democracy. We do this primarily through our flagship programs, We the People and Project Citizen, but we also provide high-quality, inquiry-driven curricular programs that bring civic learning to life. The Center additionally equips educators with professional learning that builds confidence and capacity to teach civics with depth and relevance, unlocks students’ civic agency by creating opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and share their voices through simulated hearings and other public forums. These initiatives build a national community committed to strengthening civic understanding and participation for all and root everything in decades of research and evidence. Learn more.
