Dan Wong, Director

Dan Wong is a civic education advocate and a longtime supporter of mock trials and the Center for Civic Education's programs in Nevada, where he practiced law, and in Idaho, where he currently lives. Previously, he served as chief criminal deputy city attorney in the Reno City Attorney's Office and as solicitor general/chief deputy attorney, General-Litigation Division, and chief deputy attorney, General-Transportation Division, in the Nevada Attorney General’s Office in Carson City, Nevada. He was the first Asian-American to serve as a judge in the State of Nevada when he was appointed and later won election as a Justice Court judge/justice of the peace in Reno Justice Court. Prior to that judicial service, he had his own solo private practice of law and was an assistant chief deputy district attorney in the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office in Reno, Nevada. He has a juris doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and a bachelor of arts in political science from UCLA.
