The Center for Civic Education is currently hiring a Senior Director of Civic Education.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Director of Civic Education will play a key role in leading the Center’s innovative programmatic and curricular civic education work. The Senior Director will work closely with the President and Center Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement high-priority strategies, goals, and objectives and is responsible for ensuring the ongoing success, innovation, and growth of the Center for Civic Education’s national civic education programs, curriculum, research, and innovations. The Senior Director is critical to the implementation of the Center’s organization-wide strategic goals and objectives, playing a public leadership role in advancing the Center’s mission and growing the audience. With a focus on equity, expansion, and innovation, the Senior Director will oversee an energetic and talented team currently organized into three divisions of the Center’s work:

  • National Programs, including We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution and Project Citizen: Community Engagement in Public Policy state-wide implementation, district adoption and national event participation
  • Civic Learning and Curriculum, including ongoing updating and revision of the Center’s expansion of the Center’s Civics Inquiries, Civil Discourse: An American Legacy, and Center professional learning communities, including Webinar series and Civics Mentors
  • Civic Innovations and Research, including grant-funded research projects on the Center’s programs, expansion of the Center’s current programs, and creation of opportunities to reach new audiences.
