Los Angeles — The Center for Civic Education is proud to announce Learn.civiced.org, a new website for anyone interested in learning more about American constitutional government.

The new site will focus on three main areas, beginning with an opportunity to learn more about civic education and our government. The We the People Open Course, a free, self-paced course that follows the We the People: The Citizen & The Constitution level 3 textbook, features videos of notable scholars and accompanying online exercises. Participants journey from the philosophical foundations of the U.S. Constitution through the modern interpretation and application of its ideals. This course is open to everyone.

A second feature of the site is the Civics Forum. Geared specifically to teachers, the forum provides a place to discuss civics and government, and share resources with teachers across the globe.

A segment devoted to Resources also links to ebooks, books, lesson plans, free materials and other great websites for teaching and learning about civics and government.

Courses and materials will continue to be added to this site. The new platform was made possible by the U.S. Department of Education through a Supporting Effective Educator Development grant.
