Description:
This training is exclusive to teachers who have completed Cohort 1, 2, and 3 of the James Madison Legacy Project. The training will be held at the Landmark Lookout Lodge in Tombstone, AZ. Participants will immerse themselves in the history of Tombstone, AZ through on-site field trips and historical scholars. Activities will give an interactive comparison of life in the Wild West and State of Nature, using the ideas of John Locke, social contracts, and the 2nd Amendment. Participants will draw comparisons between historical and modern day interpretations to use in the classroom to engage students in critical thinking. This institute will combine the rich history of Tombstone, Arizona with the modern issues that surround us every day. Participants will receive content knowledge as well as resources they can utilize in their classrooms.
