Join the Distinguished James Madison Legacy Project?
The James Madison Legacy Project (JMLP) is a three-year nationwide professional development initiative that will increase the number of highly effective teachers of civics and government through professional development and the implementation of an exemplary curricular program for students.
The professional development will consist of teacher institutes with focus on the research-validated We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution program, a nationally acclaimed curriculum that teaches upper elementary, middle and high school students about the history and principles of the U.S. Constitution.
25 Middle and High School Teachers participating in JMLP will receive:
FREE blended learning professional development totaling 52 hours (travel expenses, lodging, and meals included)
Complete WTP Webinar Series, 12 hours
Attend Professional Development Institutes, 40 hours (July 16-20, 2017 through February 2018)
Access to professional development learning communities with online resources
FREE classroom set of We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution (30 student books and 1 teacher?s guide)
A 0 stipend for participation
Access to research validating the impact of We the People in the classroom
The James Madison Legacy Project aims to increase the number of highly effective teachers of high-need students; increase the achievement of students attaining state standards in civics and government; and serve the self-identified professional development needs of schools with significant concentrations of high-need students.
