Gifts of appreciated stock provide an immediate income tax deduction and are not subject to capital gains tax. The Center for Civic Education will work directly with your broker to facilitate the gift. Download our helpful giving guide or contact James Heredia for details. The Center cannot provide specific legal advice; be sure to consult your tax attorney to learn about the tax benefits of gifts of appreciated stock.
Make a Planned Gift
Have a truly lasting impact on the Center's work and gain financial and tax benefits for you and your family. Included below you will find some general language you may use in your estate planning. It is not intended as legal advice, just as a suggestion for the wording that may honor your wishes. Suggested bequest language:
"I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Center for Civic Education [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its mission to promote an enlightened and responsible citizenry committed to democratic principles and actively engaged in the practice of democracy in the United States and other countries.”
Note: If you wish to restrict your bequest to a specific program, please contact our Development Office before finalizing your will to ensure that your charitable wishes and intent can be accommodated.

Combined Federal Campaign
The Center has been designated an “Approved Charity” by the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Federal workers can make donations to the Center through the CFC by using the Center’s CFC code, which is 11560.
